WELD OVERLAY PLATE
A chromium carbide weld overlay plate is a multi-purpose steel plate suitable for wear-resistant applications across virtually all industries. For heavy applications subject to temperature, abrasion corrosion, erosion and impact, it provides class leading properties.
The Weld Overlay Process
The process is when one or more metals are welded together onto the surface of a base metal. This is done to improve the material or to restore the component back to its original dimension through adding either a corrosion resistant or hard facing layer onto it.
The Difference between Cladding and Overlay Welding
The difference between cladding and overlay welding is that a weld overlay plate is deposited via fusion welding rather than mechanically. This is done to protect pipes, industry fittings, flanges and valves from corrosive environments.
Our Overlay Plate Stock Is:
- Wear resistant
- Temperature resistant
- Abrasion resistant
- Corrosion resistant
- High impact resistance
Industrial Applications for Weld Overlay Plates
Cement Industry
The equipment used in cement mills, chutes and hoppers can experience severe abrasion. These plate stocks are ideal for protecting cementing equipment.
Mining Industry
Weld overlay plate lining can minimise damage to mining equipment and extend the lifespan of excavating and transport equipment.
Coal Power Industry
Chromium carbide weld overlay plate can protect and extend the life of coal powering equipment, such as chutes and hoppers.
Quarry Industry
The equipment that transports raw ore for processing often experiences wear and tear. The increased protection for chutes and hoppers will decrease downtime as well as repair and replacement costs.
Construction Industry
Wear resistant and abrasion resistant steel plate products protect the surfaces of various types of construction equipment, such as bulldozers and dump trucks.
